CANARIE/BCNET Backbone Network Maintenance in Victoria Impacts Arbutus Access on July 18, 2020 06:00-12:00 PT
Upstream network maintenance will impact access to the Arbutus cloud on July 18 between 06:00 - 12:00 PT. Access to Arbutus from Research and peering networks will be impacted for a 2 hour period during this maintenance window. Access to Arbutus from Internet transit services (non-peering and non-research) will continue to work during this maintenance. Below is the notification from BCNET/CANARIE: From: 06:00 PT Saturday, July 18, 2020 To: 12:00 PT Saturday, July 18, 2020 Reason: CANARIE will perform maintenance work on the WROADM network optical domains in preparation for network equipment upgrades later this year. Effects: Backbone network connectivity between Seattle and Victoria, Victoria and Vancouver, and Vancouver and Kamloops will be under maintenance during this window. For all Vancouver Island members, all NREN/ORAN connectivity and Peering services at the BCNET Victoria Exchange, VICTX, will be impacted. The expected service interruption is up to 2 hours at the beginning of the maintenance window. The Internet Transit services at VICTX will not be impacted and will stay operational throughout the maintenance window.
